Your role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) at a pivotal time in the city region’s devolution journey. We’re looking for someone to help ensure our children and young people leave education and training ready to thrive equipped with academic, technical, and life-ready skills, and supported by high-quality, inspiring careers education, information, advice, and guidance. Be part of a dynamic team making real change happen!

The Partnership and Quality Lead (PQL) will play a key role in developing and embedding cross-sector partnerships, with a focus on high-quality careers education, information, advice, and guidance (CEIAG), within Greater Manchester’s (GM) nationally recognised Community of Practice model. Working within the GMCA Careers Hub, the PQL will apply an innovative approach that prioritises the needs of young people, GM localities and the business community. This role will be a key driver in supporting sustainable system change in CEIAG provision across GM, as part of the national careers strategy, in partnership with The Careers and Enterprise Company (CEC). We are implementing the work experience guarantee, aligned to DfE\\\’s statutory guidance, by connecting employers and educators across all education phases to develop high quality progressive experiences and programmes. Alongside secondary mainstream education, post-16 and inclusion provision are key priorities. Where needed support to grow expertise in these areas will be provided building on your existing transferable skills.

About you

We are looking for an enthusiastic, tenacious and motivated person to join our Education, Skills and Work Directorate working across Greater Manchester.

You must have a drive for improving systems within education and the world of work and have a passion for supporting the opportunities and outcomes for Greater Manchester’s young people. You will be sensitive to the issues that concern young people in Greater Manchester and have a deep commitment to equity and equalities.

You must be a strong communicator with the ability to build and maintain relationships with partners and stakeholder within careers education. You must enjoy working with stakeholders at varying levels of seniority across education and industry, Enterprise Advisers (EAs), businesses, local authorities, service providers and others to drive performance and improvement.

You must be well organised and comfortable with managing your own workload to meet priorities and deadlines.
