The Greater Manchester Social Work Academy (GMSWA), hosted by Bolton Council, is looking for a proactive and highly organised Project Support Officer to join our team. This is your chance to play a key role in shaping the future of social work education and practice across Greater Manchester and beyond.
In this role, you’ll be at the centre of a dynamic partnership, coordinating projects and supporting initiatives that make a real impact regionally and nationally. You’ll work closely with the Project Manager and our network of local authorities and universities, providing exceptional business and project support that ensures our priorities are delivered on time and to the highest standard. Your contribution will help strengthen the Academy’s reputation and drive meaningful change in the sector.
About You: We’re looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Project Support Officer with strong technical and creative skills. You’ll be confident using Microsoft applications such as Excel, Word, and Teams, and ideally have experience with design tools such as Canva to create professional materials. In this role, you’ll manage a variety of reporting tasks, so being comfortable working with financial information and presenting data in clear, accurate formats is essential. You’ll provide efficient business support across the Academy, helping to track progress and keep projects on schedule. You’ll also play a key role in supporting our Practice Learning Group, coordinating panel submissions and managing reviews to ensure smooth processes and high standards. In addition, you will play a key role in the development and planning of our training and engagement events, such as organising venues, managing bookings, arranging travel and catering, and ensuring everything runs seamlessly from start to finish.
