The Role

To assist in providing a comprehensive reception and enquiry service within the temporary accommodation office setting, providing a service to clients and staff to ensure the smooth running of a very busy temporary accommodation service. Working with complex families who are presenting with various issues including, disability, mental health, drugs and alcohol dependency and more. Liaising with internal and external staff to ensure the best outcomes for the families within the service. The role will be 3 days per week: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, standard working hours.

About You

We are looking for a self-motivated individual who has a desire to help vulnerable people who present to the Local Authority needing homeless assistance. You will be familiar and experienced in general office reception duties including dealing with clients face to face and over the phone, procurement of stock and services, and invoicing. You must be able to produce and maintain spreadsheets and databases, and to use internal and external IT systems. You will also need the skills to complete Housing Benefit applications and obtain through various means all documentation needed to ensure the claim is successfully completed and in payment. You will have excellent communication skills being able to liaise with internal and external staff and clients in order to meet the needs of the service, whilst being sympathetic and responsive to the issues associated with a homeless presentation. Use of all electronic and verbal communications is part of the qualities of your role.
