We are looking for passionate, highly analytical culinary experts to help train and evaluate the next generation of Artificial Intelligence. As a Subject Matter Expert, you will review, rate, and correct AI-generated responses related to food and cooking. Your expertise will ensure our models understand flavor profiles, traditional cooking techniques, ingredient sourcing, regional cuisines, and the cultural history of dishes accurately, safely, and helpfully. If you love dissecting recipes, exploring ingredient combinations, analyzing cooking techniques, or studying culinary history, this role is for you.
Role Responsibilities
- Evaluate AI Output: Read prompts and multiple AI-generated responses related to food, ranking them based on accuracy, helpfulness, tone, and formatting.
- Fact-Checking: Verify recipes, cooking methods, ingredient authenticity, culinary terminology, regional traditions, and historical context to identify AI “hallucinations” (incorrect or fabricated facts).
- Write Justifications: Provide clear, concise, and well-structured written explanations for why one AI response is better than another.
- Red Teaming: Test the limits of the AI by prompting it with complex or edge-case culinary scenarios (e.g., rare techniques, cross-cultural adaptations, or historical recipes).
Role Requirements
- Deep Culinary Expertise: Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, flavor profiles, ingredient sourcing, regional cuisines, or the history of food. This may come from experience as a food critic, junior chef, culinary student, or culinary historian.
- Experience in food writing, recipe development, culinary blogging, tasting reviews, or historical culinary research.
- Experience creating food-related content: Native-level fluency in English with the ability to explain culinary concepts, recipes, and techniques clearly to a broad audience.
- Exceptional Written Communication: You don’t just cook or taste; you analyze flavor combinations, technique precision, ingredient interactions, and culinary traditions.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to identify subtle errors, misinterpretations, and inaccuracies in recipes or culinary explanations.
Preferred Role Requirements
- Familiarity with advanced culinary techniques, flavor science, or gastronomy research.
- Familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs) such as ChatGPT, Gemini, or Claude.
