We are looking for an Associate Machine Translation & Artificial Intelligence Consultant to join our AI Team. This dynamic and multi-functional role is focused on providing junior-level support for our team of AI/MT consultants. The primary tasks of this role combine the responsibilities of a subject-matter expert (SME) on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Translation (MT) to support sales during the pre-sales process and key account & program management skills to support strategic client relationships for both new and existing clients. The successful candidate will act as a key player by supporting and directly participating in consultation with prospective and existing client to gather requirements, identify opportunities for engagement and present AI and MT-powered solutions to meet complex business needs. Further, the Associate AI/MT Consultant will serve as an SME for internal teams requiring support and guidance on implementing new Generative AI-based solutions developed internally at TransPerfect or by third parties for increased efficiency. You will be in touch with many different stakeholders, including potential and existing clients, sales representatives, program managers, client service representatives, and colleagues from other technology teams including our own AI/MT Implementation team. The role also offers a pathway for progression to AI/MT Consultant and potentially Senior AI/MT Consultant positions.
Description
- Support functions include ‘gatekeeping’ and tracking of our dedicated prequalification questionnaire, used to gather key information about potential AI/MT opportunities before our team of consultants engages in a pre-sales capacity;
- Acknowledge receipt and reply to prequalification questionnaires on behalf of the team, including tasks such as performing initial analysis of opportunity to assess potential value and determine best consultant to handle based on geography and expertise;
- Perform evaluations in different platforms including the MT/AI Hub and gather data required to provide tailored recommendations to our clients and to internal stakeholders for different opportunities;
- Provide dedicated MT/AI program consulting and support for large enterprise/VIP clients across different GlobalLink MT/AI solutions, collaborating closely with senior members of the MT/AI consulting team and with members of the MT/AI implementation team;
- Act as an SME in sales opportunities where AI & MT is involved; this includes attending and leading client presentations and meetings as well as advising sales teams on the best selling strategies and rates;
- Maintain and organize our repository of documentation hosted on SharePoint and Bookstack, including the creation and maintenance of different SOW and presentation templates used by the consulting team;
- Oversee implementation of MT and AI-based technology and services solutions: proposing pilots, defining the roadmap, setting KPIs, and coordinating with all stakeholders;
- Conduct market research regularly to discover new AI-powered technology, platforms and solutions that can be applied at TransPerfect for process optimization;
- Contribute knowledge and expertise to repository of responses to questions from requests for proposal (RFP) and requests for information (RFI) tender and selection processes;
- Coordinate all pre-production tasks and liase directly with colleagues on AI/MT Implementation team for implementation tasks;
- Track the lifecycle of different opportunities and engagements from pre-sales through to conversion/win, maintaining notes to help identify trends and areas for improvement;
- Ensure that communication channels are fluent with clients and with internal teams;
Required Skills

Required Experience and Qualifications
- BS/BA required
- Experience with localization, translation, and translation technology
- Experience with MT, Generative AI, LLM, or other NLP technologies, solutions and services
- Direct sales, client services, key account management or program management experience
- You are familiar with the localization industry and have some experience working on complex localization projects
- Fluency in English, excellent verbal communication, and client-facing skills
