Job Overview/Purpose

The Purview Consultant role is a vital component in our commitment to providing the very best consultancy and expertise to our customers. In close partnership with practice team members, you will be delivering GRC/Purview engagements ensuring an outstanding customer experience and the upholding of our exacting standards.

You will also be responsible for additional technical initiatives as requested by the Head of Security or other members of the business, these will include the development of standards and driving the development of new products and services.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Engage with senior stakeholders, governance and compliance teams to align solutions with business and regulatory requirements

• Act as a subject matter expert in Microsoft Purview, staying up to date with new features and industry developments

• Contribute to the development of Microsoft Purview offerings, collaborating across practices to enhance broader solutions

• Deliver GRC and Purview-focused projects end-to-end, using established playbooks and your technical expertise

• Build strong client relationships, acting as the main technical point of contact throughout project delivery

• Produce clear, high-quality documentation and support project teams to resolve challenges and ensure successful delivery

• Maintain a strong understanding of compliance frameworks and Microsoft technologies, whilst continuously developing your own skills and certifications.

Skills, experience and qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview and cloud security solutions, including DLP, Insider Risk Management, Information Protection, Communication Compliance, Data Lifecycle Management, DSPM, Entra ID and Active Directory.

• Working knowledge of the wider Microsoft ecosystem, including Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Studio governance, SharePoint Advanced Management and Purview Data Governance.

• Understanding of Microsoft Security technologies such as Sentinel and Defender XDR, with a desire to continue developing expertise.

• Proven track record delivering Microsoft Purview, governance, risk and compliance (GRC), or data security projects for customers.

• Confident engaging with stakeholders, running workshops, creating customer-facing materials and producing high-quality technical documentation.

• Strong knowledge of compliance and regulatory frameworks including GDPR, UK Data Protection, ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Benchmarks and the EU AI Act, with the ability to align Microsoft technologies to business and regulatory requirements.

• Experience implementing governance, data security and AI readiness strategies within Microsoft environments, supported by relevant Microsoft security, compliance and identity certifications (SC-900, SC-300, SC-401)
