Job Overview/Purpose

We are seeking a Frontier Software Consultant to help customers design, modernise and deliver Azure-hosted, cloud-native software solutions using Microsoft stack technologies and AI-first delivery practices. This is a hands-on full-stack engineering role, but with a broader consulting remit: understanding customer context, engaging stakeholders, shaping better outcomes, and using AI to increase delivery speed, quality, insight and creativity.

The ideal candidate will combine strong software engineering capability across C#, .NET, APIs, modern front-end technologies, data and Azure with the curiosity, empathy and commercial awareness of a consultant. They will be comfortable working directly with customer teams and senior stakeholders, asking better questions, challenging assumptions constructively, and identifying opportunities to improve business outcomes through technology.

This role is not only about building AI-enabled products. It is about using AI to transform the way products are built. The successful candidate will routinely use approved AI-assisted engineering practices to accelerate discovery, solution design, development, testing, documentation, analysis and delivery, while applying appropriate validation, security and responsible AI principles.

Always using responsible, secure and validated AI-assisted delivery practices.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Work directly with customers to understand their business goals, uncover challenges and shape practical technology solutions that deliver measurable value.

• Build trusted relationships with stakeholders at all levels, leading discovery workshops, translating requirements and helping customers make informed decisions.

• Take an AI-first approach to delivery, using modern AI tools and automation to accelerate analysis, development, testing and knowledge sharing while maintaining high engineering standards.

• Spot opportunities to use AI, automation and intelligent agents to improve customer outcomes, increase efficiency and unlock new possibilities.

• Design, build and support modern full-stack applications and cloud-native Azure solutions, leveraging the Microsoft technology stack to solve complex business problems.

• Collaborate with architects, consultants, project managers and customer teams to deliver secure, scalable and commercially effective solutions.

• Help shape the future of our AI-first delivery approach by contributing best practices, reusable assets, engineering playbooks and pre-sales expertise, while acting as a true "customer zero" for emerging technologies.

Skills, experience and qualifications

• Strong consulting and communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and explain complex technical concepts to a wide range of stakeholders.

• Experience turning customer challenges, business goals and ambiguous requirements into practical, deliverable solutions that create measurable value.

• Confidence leading workshops, discovery sessions and solution discussions, helping customers make informed decisions and achieve successful outcomes.

• Hands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools, combined with the engineering judgement needed to ensure quality, security and maintainability.

• Proven full-stack software engineering expertise across the Microsoft ecosystem, including modern application development, APIs, integrations and cloud technologies.

• Experience designing and delivering secure, scalable Azure solutions, with a strong understanding of modern engineering practices such as CI/CD, automated testing and cloud-native architecture.

• A passion for innovation, with an interest in AI, automation and emerging technologies, plus experience in application modernisation, enterprise environments and modern front-end development frameworks.
