Build AI systems that help bring life-saving drugs back to patients. This is an opportunity to join a multi-award-winning, VC-backed AI company using Generative AI, LLMs, and agentic systems to solve one of the biggest challenges in drug development, drug safety and toxicity. By combining cutting-edge AI Engineering with real-world scientific research, they are unlocking failed drug candidates and giving them a path to become safe, effective treatments.

As a Senior AI Engineer, you'll design and build LLM-powered tools, agentic workflows, and scalable cloud-based systems that directly support scientists across drug discovery and development. Your work will have a tangible, real-world impact, helping accelerate research and ultimately improve patient outcomes.

This is a highly applied role where you'll move quickly from concept to production, building systems that automate complex knowledge work such as literature review, data extraction, and target identification, while working closely with ML researchers, engineers, and scientists in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

You'll be responsible for designing and building AI systems, orchestration frameworks, and APIs, integrating and deploying LLMs and agent-based solutions into production, and continuously improving development, testing, and deployment processes. You'll work across Python, LLMs, LangGraph, Pydantic AI, Crew AI, APIs, cloud platforms (GCP preferred), microservices, and data pipelines, contributing to scalable, high-performance AI solutions.

We're looking for strong engineers with experience building production-grade systems in Python, integrating AI/LLM services via APIs, and working with modern agent frameworks. You may already have experience running and evaluating agentic systems in production or be developing this through hands-on projects, but you'll have a clear interest in AI Engineering, Generative AI, and real-world application of LLMs. Experience working in fast-paced environments, collaborating across disciplines, and turning complex problems into working solutions is key.

For more senior candidates, experience leading technical projects, owning architecture, and deploying scalable AI systems in production environments will be highly valuable.

In return, you'll receive a competitive salary (£70k-£90k depending on experience), bonus, pension, and equity in a high-growth startup, alongside hybrid working, private healthcare, and the opportunity to work on genuinely meaningful problems with real-world impact.

If you're looking to apply AI, LLMs, and agentic systems to something that truly matters, this is a rare opportunity to do exactly that.
