Wrap Around Care Support Staff Location: Sutton, South London Salary: £14.24–£15.00 per hour Contract: Part-time, long-term temporary Start date: 28 September 2026 A caring and well-organised primary school in Sutton is seeking reliable Wrap Around Care Support Staff for its before-school and/or after-school provision. You will help create a relaxed, enjoyable and secure environment outside normal lesson times. The role combines pupil supervision with creative activities, practical organisation and positive communication with children, colleagues and parents or carers. This opportunity would be ideal for an experienced playworker, childcare practitioner, teaching assistant or someone with relevant experience supporting primary-aged children. Responsibilities • Welcoming pupils and helping them settle into the club • Supervising indoor and outdoor play • Leading creative, physical and social activities • Encouraging positive friendships, cooperation and good behaviour • Preparing and serving simple snacks in line with hygiene and allergy procedures • Maintaining accurate registers and supporting safe collection arrangements • Ensuring resources and shared spaces are used safely • Supporting pupils with additional needs so they can participate fully • Following the school’s safeguarding and first-aid procedures Requirements • Experience working with children in a professional or voluntary setting • A calm, friendly and responsible approach • Good communication and organisational skills • An understanding of children’s differing needs and interests • The ability to work effectively as part of a team • Reliability for scheduled morning and/or afternoon sessions • A relevant childcare, playwork or first-aid qualification would be beneficial • An enhanced DBS check, or willingness to complete one What the role offers • Regular hours that fit around the main school day • A positive and family-friendly school community • The opportunity to plan activities based on children’s interests • A supportive extended-school team • Long-term stability within a rewarding part-time position • Opportunities to build broader experience in primary education and childcare Apply today if you are an enthusiastic Wrap Around Care Support Staff candidate who can help children feel happy, safe and included.
