Transparency Education is seeking a resilient and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children with social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH). This Bromley opportunity would suit someone who understands that behaviour is often a form of communication and who can combine clear boundaries with patience and consistency.
Your responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support.
- Help pupils remain engaged in classroom learning.
- Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
- Implement strategies agreed with teachers and the SENCO.
- Help pupils manage transitions and challenging situations.
- Build positive, professional relationships.
- Encourage confidence, resilience and independence.
- Record observations and communicate effectively with school staff.
What we are looking for:
- Previous experience with children or young people with SEMH, behavioural or additional needs is highly desirable.
- Calm and emotionally resilient.
- Consistent when managing behaviour.
- Able to establish appropriate boundaries.
- Patient and non-confrontational.
- Comfortable working closely with teaching and pastoral staff.
- Committed to safeguarding.
