Are you an experienced and adaptable English Teacher available for an immediate start? Transparency Education is recruiting an English Teacher to join a welcoming independent specialist school. This is an initial two-week assignment; however, there is a strong possibility that the booking will be extended.
You will primarily teach GCSE English and Functional Skills English to pupils with a range of abilities and individual needs. The timetable will also include a small number of Careers lessons. This is an excellent opportunity to join a friendly, collaborative school community where staff work closely together to help every learner progress.
The role
- Plan and deliver engaging GCSE English and Functional Skills English lessons.
- Adapt teaching materials to reflect pupils’ abilities, learning needs and starting points.
- Help learners strengthen their literacy, communication skills and confidence.
- Deliver a small number of Careers lessons as part of the timetable.
- Maintain a positive, structured and inclusive learning environment.
- Monitor pupils’ progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, support professionals and school leaders.
- Follow the school’s safeguarding, behaviour and curriculum policies.
Requirements
- Qualified English Teachers.
- FE lecturers or tutors with GCSE and Functional Skills experience.
- Experienced English instructors with relevant classroom or teaching experience.
- Practitioners who are confident supporting pupils with varied abilities and additional needs.
Applicants should have:
- Recent experience teaching GCSE English and/or Functional Skills English.
- Strong subject knowledge and the ability to make English accessible and engaging.
- A flexible, patient and adaptable approach.
- Effective classroom and behaviour-management skills.
- The ability to build positive professional relationships with pupils and colleagues.
- Immediate or very short-notice availability.
- The right to work in the UK.
