Early Career Teacher – Southwark Location: Southwark, London, SE1 Salary: £40,317 per year Contract: Full-time, long-term temporary Start date: 1 September 2026 Salary will reflect experience and qualifications in line with the London Teachers Pay Scale. Transparency Education is recruiting an ambitious Early Career Teacher for a primary-school opportunity in Southwark. The position is suitable for a teacher completing or beginning their early career stage who is ready to take responsibility for a class and contribute fully to school life. The school is looking for someone reflective, enthusiastic and committed to ensuring that every pupil makes strong academic and personal progress. The opportunity Depending on your experience and the school’s requirements, you may teach within EYFS, Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2. You will be responsible for: • Planning and delivering engaging, well-structured lessons • Establishing a positive, inclusive and purposeful classroom culture • Using assessment to adapt teaching and address gaps in learning • Setting clear expectations for behaviour and participation • Supporting pupils with different starting points and additional needs • Working closely with teaching assistants and intervention staff • Maintaining accurate planning and assessment information • Communicating professionally with parents and carers • Participating in staff meetings, training and school-development activities • Reflecting on feedback and using it to improve your practice You should have: • Qualified Teacher Status, or be on track to achieve QTS before the start date • Successfully completed, or be due to complete, initial teacher training • Recent experience teaching in a UK primary-school setting • A secure understanding of the primary curriculum • The ability to plan lessons with clear learning objectives and suitable differentiation • A developing understanding of assessment and adaptive teaching • Positive and consistent classroom-management skills • A willingness to seek feedback and engage in professional development • Strong communication, organisation and teamwork skills • High expectations for every pupil • A clear commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice • Applicants trained through university-led PGCE, School Direct, SCITT or another recognised route are welcome.
