Position: Early Career Teacher Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term Temporary Start Date: 8th September 2026 Location: Sutton, London, UK Salary: £40,372 per annum (M1) This role is paid at M1, the starting point of the Main Pay Range, in line with your Early Career Teacher (ECT) status. Hours of work: 8.30am – 4.00pm, Monday to Friday (term time only), with a reduced timetable in line with your statutory ECT induction entitlement. About the Role: We are recruiting on behalf of a supportive, well-organised primary school in Sutton for an Early Career Teacher (ECT) to join their team for the start of the 2026/27 academic year, with strong potential to become permanent for the right candidate. The school has a well-established induction programme aligned to the Early Career Framework (ECF), with a dedicated mentor, regular protected mentor time, and a statutory reduced timetable, so you can focus on developing your practice with genuine support around you. Key Responsibilities: • Planning and delivering engaging, well-structured lessons appropriate to your ECT year • Meeting the statutory requirements of your ECT induction, including regular mentor meetings • Assessing and tracking pupil progress, using data to inform planning • Building positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues • Engaging fully with the schools ECF-aligned training and professional development programme • Maintaining high expectations of behaviour and engagement in the classroom • Reflecting on and developing your practice with support from your mentor and induction tutor Requirements: To be eligible for this role and the stated rate of pay, applicants must have: • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) • Completion of, or enrolment on, an accredited ITT programme (e.g. PGCE, School Direct, Teach First) • Genuine enthusiasm for starting your teaching career and developing your practice • A strong classroom presence and a commitment to inclusive teaching • The right to work in the UK • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or a willingness to apply for one) What the School Can Offer: • A structured, ECF-aligned induction programme • A dedicated mentor and protected mentor time • A statutory reduced timetable in your first year • A supportive senior leadership team genuinely invested in your development • Good transport links across Sutton Why work via Transparency Education?
