About the Role:

Education and therapeutic support work together here, helping pupils rebuild confidence. You will bring a main specialism, primary or secondary, and grow into teaching at least two subjects over time. Just a two minute walk from Maidstone East station, this is a chance to build something meaningful with caring colleagues. If you want your teaching to make a lasting difference, we would love to hear from you.

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons in your main specialism across Key Stages 1 to 3.
  • Adapt teaching so lessons are accessible and responsive to each pupil's needs.
  • Provide a calm, consistent approach that helps pupils feel safe and ready to learn.
  • Support pupils with emotional regulation and building positive relationships.
  • Work alongside therapeutic colleagues to help pupils re-engage with learning.
  • Develop your teaching in a second subject area, such as Humanities, Science or PSHE.
  • Contribute ideas and energy as an SEMH Teacher in a founding staff team.

Requirements:

  • To be eligible for this role and the stated rate of pay, applicants must have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Strong primary teaching experience or expertise in a relevant secondary subject.
  • An understanding of how SEMH needs and trauma can affect learning.
  • Willingness to teach at least two subjects within your first 12 to 18 months as an SEMH Teacher.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Be enthusiastic about joining a founding team and shaping a new specialist setting.
  • Bring a calm, patient and consistent manner, even on challenging days.
  • Have a trauma-informed outlook and a genuine interest in SEMH education.
  • Show skill in building trusting relationships with children and young people.
