Position Purpose

The purpose of the Training Programme is to develop a pipeline for key roles within Transnet Port Terminals (TPT) through a structured 12-month training programme. The programme seeks to place learners in specific areas within TPT according to their academic background, career aspirations and business requirements. Preference will be given to candidates residing in the Buffalo City Municipality.

Position Outputs

  • Perform daily task as specified per equipment.
  • Handle commodities in line with daily operational requirements
  • Complete logbook as well record equipment defects.
  • Handling of data terminals where applicable.
  • Maintain work related radio communication.
  • Monitor equipment performance during operation to establish defects.
  • Report incidents / accidents.
  • Report daily operational occurrences.
  • Operation of safety equipment when required (fire extinguisher).
  • Adhere to terminal safety policies and procedures.
  • Sign on to the terminal operating system (Navis).
  • Follow on screen directives using Navis.
  • Acknowledge task complete at end of instruction cycle.

Qualifications and Experience

• Grade 12/ Matric • (Advantageous: TVET N6 in Logistics/Transport)Youth Age between 18 and 35 years.
