About the Role
Transmission Dynamics is looking for an enthusiastic and commercially minded Business Development Manager with technical expertise to join our growing team.
Working at the forefront of advanced engineering and technology, you'll play a key role in developing relationships with customers across sectors including rail, energy, mining and heavy industry, helping them identify innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges.
This is a varied and rewarding role that combines relationship management, technical team liaison and commercial thinking.
Working closely with our engineering and senior management teams, you'll guide opportunities from initial enquiry through proposal development and onto successful contract award.
This role is pivotal in supporting customers throughout their decision‑making process and helping drive the continued growth of our business.

Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary point of contact for newly qualified customer enquiries.
- Build strong relationships with prospective and existing clients.
- Understand customer requirements and identify appropriate technical solutions in collaboration with our engineering teams.
- Support preparation and presentation of technical/commercial proposals.
- Organise, document and follow up customer meetings, tracking correspondence via in‑house CRM system (Insightly).
- Identify and review new tender opportunities.
- Coordinate internal technical and commercial input to support tender submissions.
- Review customer contractual documentation and negotiate terms and conditions.
- Work closely with the senior management team to continually improve commercial processes, documentation and customer engagement.
- Provide wider commercial support across the business as required.

Essential Skills & Experience
- Minimum two years' experience in a client‑facing business development / technical sales role.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to build long‑term customer relationships.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to understand customer requirements.
- Confident working within a collaborative multidisciplinary team.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience within engineering or technology‑based businesses in one or more relevant market/industry.
- Established networks in relevant markets/industries.
- Knowledge of Industrial Internet of Things (IIo T), condition monitoring or related technologies.
- Experience responding to tenders or public procurement opportunities.
- Experience preparing technical or commercial proposals.
- Experience of maintaining CRM records to track pipeline activity.
