About the Role
Due to continued business growth and an expanding portfolio of global projects, Transmission Dynamics is looking to recruit both Data Analysts and Senior Data Analysts to join our growing multidisciplinary engineering team.
Our data analysts play a vital role in transforming complex data collected from our Industrial IoT systems into meaningful insights that help customers improve safety, reliability and operational performance across industries including rail, energy, mining and heavy industry.
Working alongside mechanical engineers, software developers and electronics specialists, you’ll analyse real‑world engineering data gathered from challenging operating environments, applying advanced analytical techniques, statistical methods and Artificial Intelligence to solve complex engineering problems.

Key Responsibilities
Data Analyst
- Collate, clean and process large engineering datasets.
- Analyse strain, vibration, audio, image and other sensor data.
- Assist with the research and implementation of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning techniques.
- Work alongside engineering teams to interpret data and solve technical challenges.
- Automate analysis pipelines to enable immediate delivery of critical results to clients.
- Develop client‑facing dashboards and technical reports.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of analytical tools and processes.
Senior Data Analyst
In addition to the above, Senior Data Analysts will:
- Lead end‑to‑end analytical projects from concept through to client delivery.
- Research, develop and implement advanced AI and Machine Learning methodologies.
- Mentor and support junior members of the data team.
- Develop complex analytical methodologies and engineering simulations.
- Present findings and technical recommendations to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Help shape the future direction of our data analytics capability.

Essential Skills & Experience
Data Analyst
- Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Demonstrable experience using Python and SQL.
- Strong mathematical and statistical knowledge.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to present technical information clearly.
Senior Data Analyst
In addition to the above:
- Approximately five or more years’ experience within data analysis, data science or a similar analytical role.
- Demonstrable experience delivering complex analytical projects.
- Strong experience applying Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning within commercial or industrial environments.
- Ability to lead projects and communicate complex technical concepts to a wide range of stakeholders.
- Experience mentoring or supporting less experienced colleagues.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience analysing vibration, strain, acoustic or other engineering sensor data.
- Computer vision or image processing experience.
- Experience working with Industrial IoT or industrial monitoring systems.
- Mechanical engineering knowledge or experience working within engineering environments.
- Experience with software engineering tools and techniques to rapidly develop and efficiently maintain reliable software.
- Experience developing customer dashboards and technical reports. Familiarity with cloud‑based analytics platforms.
