Translink is the main provider of public transport in Northern Ireland, operating integrated bus and rail services, totaling 80m passenger journeys annually. With over 4000 employees, a fleet of over 1400 buses and trains, and a significant investment programme underway, Translink is focused on delivering a Better.Connected strategy that will not only transform public transport in Northern Ireland but will also ensure it meets its Climate Action pledge to reach net zero carbon by 2040.

The Director of Commercial Operations is a key member of the Senior Leadership Team reporting to the Group Chief Executive. The role is responsible for developing and implementing solutions to support the planned growth in public transport in Northern Ireland aligned to Translink’s Better.Connected Strategy. The role will provide strategic vision, operational oversight, and inspiring leadership to strengthen the Translink brand, driving revenue growth, and unlocking new opportunities.

This is a broad portfolio, leading a team of specialists who are responsible for developing and delivering Translink's commercial, marketing, and communications strategies to achieve organisational objectives, while leveraging multi-channel, digitally focused and innovative approaches to market engagement.

We are seeking a highly capable commercial leader with significant experience in leading and managing commercial strategies within a high-volume service delivery environment. Demonstrable experience in influencing and shaping strategy, with excellent stakeholder management abilities, coupled with excellent operational leadership experience within a complex operating environment is key. High levels of political awareness, substantial budgetary responsibility, with excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, are also pre-requisites.
