The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

To provide a Signalling Design Engineering function within the Signalling Projects Design Office. The role will primarily be involved in the production of Signalling designs at both the scheme development stage and at detailed design stage. They will also provide a wider engineering support to the S&T department and Infrastructure division.

The post holder will undertake the preparation of design specifications, condition surveys, undertake conceptual Signalling designs, under mentorship of a senior designer and perform these duties to specified standards of safety, quality, and productivity.

  • A Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering with a minimum of 2 years experience in Railway Signalling, OR HND/C in Electrical/Electronic Engineering with a minimum of 5 years experience and extensive knowledge in railway Signalling.

  • Experience of Safety, Health & Environment in a safety critical Railway environment.

  • Experience of using CAD software

  • Computer literate, experience of using Microsoft 365 business applications.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience of PLC design applied to Railway Signalling systems.

  • Experience of Level Crossing types, designs and Statutory Orders

  • Proficient in the use of MicroStation CAD software as applicable to Signalling design
