You will plan and design the Bus Network making efficient use of buses and drivers whilst delivering a customer focused timetable and negotiate with Trade Union representatives to achieve agreement on working schedules. You will also identify opportunities for passenger growth and estimate associated costs/benefits.
The Scheduling and Planning Officer will provide TransXchange Exports of the bus network to internal and external customers for outputs to customer information systems i.e. Journeyplanner, Web and Apps. You will input accurate data to a scheduling system to ensure compliance with Driver Hours Regulations and Payment Structures and liaise with internal and external stakeholders to determine transport requirements for scheduled services, Home to School Transport and events.
Essential Criteria
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above, or equivalent, to include English and Maths or alternatively, be able to demonstrate at least 3 years relevant experience in a similar post.
- Experience of working within a transport or planning environment.
- Experience of engaging and influencing a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience and awareness of budgets and cost control.
- Experience of producing and analysing information to solve problems.
- Experience of using MS Office.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience of managing own workload and delivering results to meet business needs.
- Experience of interpreting and applying working practices and Agreements.
- Full current licence and access to a vehicle.
