As Craft Gin Clubs Creative Copy Manager, youll be the proud owner of our internal copy hub and the day-to-day guardian of our tone of voice, helping us bring our customer value proposition to life across all touch-points.
Youll put your wordsmithing super powers into action, creating inspiring copy and campaign ideas to help us engage our customers and hit our business goals.
Youll also manage a junior copywriter, and support them in levelling-up their skills.
Sitting within our internal creative team, this role reports to the Senior Marketing Campaign Manager and is part of the wider marketing team.
Key Responsibilities
- Write copy for all channels, from emails and online journeys, to digital and print adverts, blog posts, magazine articles, product descriptions and social media ads / posts. You name it!
- Own the delivery of best-practice copy within the business, using data and competitor research to spearhead testing initiatives and drive incremental improvements.
- Work with the wider creative and marketing team to bring campaigns to life with emotive, engaging copy that showcases what makes Craft GIn Club different and special.
- Proofread and sign off all copy (with the support of your line-manager) to ensure it does our brand and product offering proud.
- Manage the copy workflow and assignment of tasks, ensuring that briefs are delivered accurately and on time.
- Manage and mentor a Junior Copywriter.
- Under the guidance of the Chief Brand Officer and Senior Marketing Campaign Manager, ensure that the team embraces the Craft Gin Club tone of voice and speaks in a cohesive way to all customers, across all channels.
Requirements
EXPERIENCE
- At least 3 years experience in a senior copywriting role, creating copy for online and offline channels, preferably within a D2C food, drink or lifestyle business.
- Experience writing CRM emails and other performance-based copy that has a specific goal to hit, be it signups or incremental revenue.
- Experience writing longer-form editorial content, with a story to tell.
- Demonstrable experience as a Tone of Voice guardian.
- Experience overseeing the work of other writers, and coaching / mentoring them along the way.
- Experience working as a brand creative, collaborating with designers and channel owners to devise concepts for campaigns.
Skills & Attributes
- Relevant university degree or experience/qualification.
- In depth interest in and understanding of retail brands, and the critical role copy has in helping a business engage, acquire and retain customers.
- Combination of faultless spelling, grammar and attention to detail, with a creative approach to language.
- Ability to respond creatively and conceptually to commercial challenges.
- A good understanding of the needs of different channels (website, print, emails, paid social, SEO, etc.)
- Organised, with great time management skills gained through working in fast paced environments.
- Able to work cross-functionally and build strong rapport and relationships across teams.
- Excellent people skills and a positive attitude.
- Flexible in approach and strong on teamwork.
- An interest in the world of drinks is a bonus!
