We are a growing housing association based in Nottinghamshire seeking a reliable and proactive Housing Management Officer to join our team ASAP!
Purpose of the role
This role exists to ensure our residents receive high-quality housing management support, maintain tenancy sustainment across our portfolio of supported housing, HMOs, temporary accommodation and residential properties, and protect the organisation’s assets through effective casework and compliance.
- Manage a portfolio of supported housing tenancies from sign-up to tenancy end.
- Complete tenancy sign-ups, reviews, property inspections and tenancy audits.
- Promote tenancy sustainment by supporting residents to meet their tenancy obligations.
- Monitor rent accounts, manage arrears and agree appropriate repayment plans.
- Investigate tenancy breaches, anti-social behaviour and resident complaints.
- Coordinate repairs, maintenance, void works and property turnarounds.
- Ensure properties remain safe, compliant and meet all relevant regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate tenancy, property and case records.
- Work closely with support staff, landlords, contractors, local authorities and partner agencies.
- Respond to safeguarding concerns in line with organisational procedures.
- Comply with relevant legislation, organisational policies and health and safety requirements.
- Contribute to service improvements, audits and quality assurance activities.
Experience
- Experience in housing management, supported housing or a similar housing-related role.
- Experience managing tenancies, property inspections and resident casework.
- Experience working with vulnerable adults or people with complex needs.
- Experience managing rent accounts, arrears or tenancy enforcement.
- Good knowledge of housing management principles, safeguarding and relevant legislation.
- Strong communication, organisational and IT skills.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- CIH Level 3 or equivalent housing qualification.
- Experience within supported housing, exempt accommodation or HMOs.
- Knowledge of Housing Benefit, Universal Credit or HMO licensing.
- Experience working with local authorities, landlords and partner agencies.
- Mental Health First Aid or other relevant training.
