2nd Line Field Engineer
Location: Office-based in North East, England (Gateshead, Durham, Houghton le Spring ) – with travel 1–2 days per week
Salary: Up to £32,000 plus benefits

Our client is looking for a driven and technically confident individual to join their expanding IT team, supporting multiple sites and delivering expert 2nd line support.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 2nd line support across offices and remote sites, resolving escalated IT issues both in-person and remotely.
- Respond to and triage helpdesk tickets, ensuring clear communication and effective resolution.
- Deploy, configure and maintain hardware, including laptops, mobile devices, and printers.
- Carry out machine upgrades, repairs and routine maintenance tasks.
- Support the set-up and day-to-day use of Windows 10/11, Office 365 and mobile devices (iOS and Android).
- Maintain and troubleshoot CCTV systems
- Contribute to IT documentation and asset management.
- Procure IT equipment and software when required.
- Travel across the UK to support other sites (1–2 days per week), with occasional evening or weekend work.
What You'll Bring:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to explain technical issues to non-technical users.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage your workload effectively.
- A proactive mindset and eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
- Good technical understanding of networks, data security and IT systems.
- Full UK driving licence.
Bonus Skills (Not Essential but Great to Have):
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Intune and Azure environments.
- Understanding of VPNs, firewalls, VLANs and routing.
- Knowledge of ITIL best practices.
