Role purpose:
The Bid Excellence and Proposition Lead is a handsâon, dayâtoâday operator responsible for delivering highâquality, compelling propositions across Transform's public sector bids. Reporting to the Managing Director of Sales & Marketing, this role works closely alongside the Head of Bid Quality & Assurance (Advisory).
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day development of bid propositions, win themes and narrative structure across live bids.
- Coordinate and facilitate storyboard, winâtheme and solution design workshops.
- Coâfacilitate sessions led by the Head of Bid Quality & Assurance (Advisory), supporting session flow and capturing insight to aid learning.
- Progressively lead sessions independently, applying best practice and feedback.
- Translate complex technical and functional inputs into clear, persuasive, evidenceâbased responses.
Coaching, Feedback & Capability Building
- Support bid writers and SMEs through handsâon guidance, structured feedback and iteration.
- Actively seek feedback to deepen skills in bid craft, facilitation and narrative strategy.
Bid Quality & Governance (Operational)
- Apply established bid quality standards and review processes across live bids.
- Prepare bids for senior advisory and leadership review.
- Track actions and improvements arising from feedback cycles.
- Escalate risks or gaps appropriately without owning final assurance or signâoff.
Knowledge Management, Social Value & AI
- Own and maintain bid knowledge libraries including case studies, proof points and metrics.
- Embed social impact, DEI and cultural fit into propositions using robust evidence.
- Support the practical application of AI and technology within bid development.
Insights & Continuous Improvement
- Facilitate lessons learned following bid submissions and outcomes.
- Analyse feedback and performance trends to inform improvements.
- Share insights and recommendations with Sales & Marketing leadership and the Head of Bid Quality & Assurance (Advisory).
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Experience in UK public sector bidding and tendering.
- Strong written communication and storytelling capability.
- Understanding of procurement processes and evaluation criteria.
- Confidence facilitating workshops and working with senior stakeholders.
- Strong organisation, attention to detail and ability to work at pace.
- Desirable: APMP qualification or exposure to evaluation panels.
