As a Bank Support Worker with Transforming Support Sussex, you will provide person centred support to adults with learning disabilities and complex needs. The focus is on helping each individual build confidence, make their own choices and enjoy as much independence and control over their life as possible. The Role
- Supporting individuals with everyday living and maintaining their independence
- Helping people make choices about their routines, activities and lifestyle
- Supporting access to the local community, appointments and social activities
- Providing support with health needs and medication in line with agreed procedures
- Helping individuals manage their tenancy, finances and household responsibilities where required
- Encouraging independence, confidence and positive risk taking
- Building positive relationships with the people you support, their families and other professionals
- Maintaining accurate records and completing required documentation
- Following safeguarding, health and safety and risk management procedures
- Working closely with colleagues to provide consistent, high quality support
About You
- At least 6 months' previous care or support experience
- A genuine commitment to person centred support
- A reliable and responsible approach
- Good communication skills
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Confidence supporting people with a range of individual and complex needs
- The ability to maintain accurate records and follow agreed support plans
- Flexibility to work bank shifts as required
