The Role
We are looking for a talented Software Architect to lead the technical design and architecture of our growing software platform.
This is a senior, hands-on role responsible for shaping how our applications are designed, built and maintained across both frontend and backend systems. Working across our TypeScript technology stack, you'll define architectural standards, guide best practice and ensure solutions remain scalable, secure and maintainable as our products evolve.
You'll work closely with engineering teams to design robust solutions, establish development patterns and support the delivery of high-quality software. You'll also play a key role in reviewing and refining solutions developed through AI-assisted engineering tools, using your expertise to ensure what reaches production is secure, effective and fit for purpose.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and maintain software architecture across frontend and backend applications.
- Design scalable services, domain models and application structures that support long-term growth.
- Own and evolve API design and integration standards across products.
- Establish development patterns, coding standards and best practices.
- Guide technical decisions around performance, security, authentication and multi-tenant application behaviour.
- Support the development of accessible, consistent and user-friendly frontend experiences.
- Review technical designs and code to ensure quality, maintainability and alignment with architectural standards.
- Collaborate with engineering and platform teams to ensure seamless integration between application and infrastructure layers.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship across the development function.
About You
You'll be an experienced software architect with a strong background in modern web application development and a passion for designing high-quality systems that deliver value at scale.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Significant experience designing and architecting software solutions using TypeScript.
- Strong knowledge of React, Next.js and Node.js environments.
- Experience designing APIs and data models for scalable applications.
- Strong understanding of software architecture principles, design patterns and best practices.
- Ability to create clear technical direction across multiple products and technologies.
- Excellent code review, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Experience working across the full application stack and taking ownership of end-to-end solution design.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience building multi-tenant SaaS applications.
- Knowledge of contract-first or specification-driven development approaches.
- Experience working with AI-assisted software development tools.
- Understanding of automated testing practices, including unit and end-to-end testing.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards and frontend best practices.
- Experience designing component libraries or design systems.
