Regional Manager of Field Operations

Location- Flexible within your assigned region, with regular travel to customer sites, regional offices and company locations

Salary - £45,000 - £50,000

The Role

We are looking for an experienced and driven Regional Manager of Field Operations to lead the delivery of field-based IT services across a designated region.

Reporting to the Head of Field Operations, you will be responsible for the operational performance, technical leadership and people management of regional IT Managers, Onsite Engineers and other field-based colleagues. You'll ensure services are delivered consistently, customer commitments are met and regional teams have the resources, support and direction needed to succeed.

This is a highly visible leadership role, combining operational management, technical oversight and customer engagement. You'll act as the senior escalation point for complex technical and service issues while driving high standards, continuous improvement and a culture of accountability across your region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of all contracted field-based IT services across your region.
  • Manage regional staffing levels, service coverage, resource planning and associated budgets.
  • Develop, support and performance manage IT Managers, Onsite Engineers and field-based colleagues.
  • Act as the senior technical and operational escalation point for complex customer issues and major incidents.
  • Ensure customer environments are secure, well-documented and aligned with agreed technical standards.
  • Monitor service performance, customer satisfaction and operational risks, implementing improvement plans where required.
  • Drive consistency across processes, documentation, engineering standards and ways of working.
  • Work closely with the Service Desk, Projects and wider operational teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Support customer retention and service improvement through strong stakeholder relationships and effective escalation management.
  • Provide regular reporting, forecasting and operational insight to the Head of Field Operations.

About You

You'll be a strong operational leader with experience managing technical service teams across multiple locations. You'll be comfortable balancing customer expectations, team performance, technical standards and commercial considerations while maintaining a focus on service excellence.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Experience managing IT service delivery within a managed services, field-based or multi-site support environment.
  • Proven experience leading and developing geographically dispersed technical teams.
  • Experience managing workforce planning, service coverage and operational capacity.
  • Experience managing staffing budgets and people-related costs.
  • Strong technical understanding of IT infrastructure, networking, Microsoft cloud technologies, endpoint management and cybersecurity.
  • Experience managing major incidents, technical escalations and service recovery activities.
  • Knowledge of network security, technical standards, documentation and operational best practice.
  • Experience using service metrics, KPIs and reporting to drive performance and improvement.
  • Strong stakeholder management and customer relationship skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly across the region.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Experience working within education technology, schools or a managed service provider.
  • Experience supporting service transitions, customer onboarding or organisational change.
  • Familiarity with PSA, ITSM, RMM and operational reporting platforms.
  • Relevant technical, service management or leadership qualifications.
  • Understanding of safeguarding, information security, data protection and health and safety requirements within educational settings.
