The Role

We are looking for a Cyber Security & Improvement Specialist to support the delivery of cyber security, compliance and operational improvement initiatives across the group.

Working closely with technical teams and wider business stakeholders, you will play a key role in implementing security improvements, enhancing compliance standards and supporting the rollout of new technologies, systems and processes.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys combining technical expertise with project delivery and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement cyber security improvements identified through audits, assessments and security reviews.
  • Support the achievement and ongoing maintenance of Cyber Essentials, Cyber Essentials Plus and ISO 27001 standards.
  • Work with technical teams to strengthen security controls, policies and technologies.
  • Assist with vulnerability remediation, endpoint security, identity and access management, and security hardening activities.
  • Support the implementation of new operational systems, tools and service improvements.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, standards and procedures.
  • Promote best practice in data management and retention.
  • Coordinate actions across teams and monitor progress against agreed objectives.

About You

We're looking for someone who is technically capable, organised and motivated, with experience delivering cyber security and compliance improvements within an IT environment.

You will have

  • Experience implementing cyber security and compliance initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus.
  • Experience working with ISO 27001 controls and security frameworks.
  • A good understanding of Microsoft 365, endpoint management, identity and access management, and modern security technologies.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to work independently and see projects through to completion.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Desirable experience includes security certifications such as Security+, SC-900, SC-200, CISSP or similar, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer or Lead Auditor experience, and experience within managed services, education or multi-site environments.
