The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 Β£ per year.

Time Commitment: 1 hour per week per family supported, plus time for supervision and reports.

About the Opportunity: The child psychotherapist will work closely with the Paediatric Occupational Therapist to jointly implement the support programmes for young autistic children and their families.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess separately and jointly with the Occupational Therapist the needs of the child and their families, using standardised tests and other assessment methods (e.g., observations, video-recordings and interview notes).
  • Plan support required jointly with the Occupational Therapist.
  • Conduct home-visits to provide direct support to children and their families.
  • Write reports for the family and organisation, as required.
  • Maintain assessment home-visit records in a systematic and organised way as required by the Charity in SharePoint.
  • Participate in regular meetings with the Occupational Therapist and Child Psychotherapist Team Leader.
  • Report any concerns to the Team Leader and provide suggestions and recommendations for action.
  • Contribute to other activities such as the Charity webinars and the 'Parents Forum' providing expert advice, and to charity team meetings in their own time.
  • Engage in professional networking, multi-professional practice and intra-professional learning.

Qualifications:

  • Accredited professional qualification in Child Psychotherapy – trained child and adolescent psychotherapist or psychoanalytic psychotherapist or psychodynamic psychotherapist.
  • Experience of working with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrable experience of working with young autistic children and their families.
  • Understanding of safeguarding requirements and relevant legislation.
  • Understanding of data protection requirements and relevant legislation.
  • Understanding of confidentiality and limits of service provision.
