We are looking for an organised, enthusiastic and highly motivated podiatry clinical support worker, to be a good team player and able to work independently and under pressure. You will be supporting the podiatrists undertaking nail surgery, wound and assessment clinics. It will require travel to various clinics in Torbay and South Devon as necessary. High standards of treatment and professionalism, adherence to policies and procedures is essential.

Main duties of the job:

  • You will assist the podiatry team to deliver high quality care to a caseload across the Torbay and South Devon area and will be working closely with other community healthcare workers and provider agencies within a variety of care settings including community clinics, domiciliary work, and care homes.
  • You will be committed to and undertake CPD, evidenced based practice and clinical rotation, providing high standards of treatment and professionalism and to continue to develop a multi-disciplinary approach to patient care.
  • Due to the role requirements, you must have the ability to travel around the Torbay and South Devon locality to undertake home visits.

Person specification:

  • NVQ Care Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent qualification/experience.
  • Care certificate.
  • English & Mathematics at GCSE grade A-C (9-4) or level 2 functional skills.

Specific skills:

  • Able to prioritise and organise work.
  • Able to work under instruction, under pressure and as part of a team.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Previous experience in a care environment or able to demonstrate a caring nature/life experience.
  • Understands the need for strict confidentiality.
  • Substantial evidence of working under delegation of duty.
  • Ability to provide health education to patients.
  • Working knowledge of complex care needs of some individuals/families including Safeguarding Children & Adults, Domestic Abuse and Mental Health.
