We work from a range of therapeutic models such as DBT, MBT, CFT, CBT, ISTDP, ACT and CAT.
We have a fantastic psychologically minded and compassionate collective leadership team in Telford and Wrekin CMHS, and a supportive Psychology presence within the Shropshire Telford and Wrekin Care Group, regular psychology meetings to keep everyone informed of developments as well as excellent training.
Main duties of the job
- To support the development of specialist assessments and short-term interventions at the 'front door' of the service, working closely alongside the assessment team to strengthen early engagement and care pathways.
- To provide specialist psychology assessment, one to one and group interventions to clients experiencing severe and enduring mental health issues that meet Trust and Directorate objectives, national strategic and policy guidelines, commissioner requirements, and user and carer needs and expectations.
- To support the development and implementation of systemic interventions, including reflective practice groups with the team, psychology consultations, teaching and training, and systemic interventions.
- To utilise opportunities for reflection and the continuing development of your own skills.
- To work within professional guidelines and the overall framework of MPFT's policies and procedures.
- The post holder will be responsible for adhering to relevant Trust policies and professional ethics.
- To employ research skills for audit, policy and service evaluation and development and research.
- To work with inpatients, outpatients, staff of the primary care and various secondary care mental health services, and third sector organisations where required.
- To contribute to care group and wide trust initiatives and development projects.

Person specification
- Significant experience of working with clients with complex, severe and enduring mental health issues.
- Experience of delivering 1:1 & Group Interventions.
- Experience of working in a community mental health team.
- Experience of supervising others.
- Experience of systemic work (e.g. with teams, carers/families).
Qualifications
- It is a condition of employment that the post-holder is registered with the Health Professions Council.
- Doctoral level training in clinical/counselling psychology (or its equivalent).
- Post-doctoral training in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice.
- Training in Supervision.
- You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
