Job overview: Sherwood Forest Hospitals are seeking a Research Study Set Up Manager to join our dynamic Research and Innovation (R&I) Department, part of Corporate Services within the Trust. In this pivotal role, you will work closely with the R&I management team, Principal Investigators, research nurses, research teams, sponsors, and the Trust to establish and deliver the systems and processes required to support the efficient and timely identification, set up, and delivery of clinical trials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with stakeholders including investigators, nurses, sponsors, and Trust teams to ensure smooth trial initiation.
- Develop and implement processes that enable efficient study set up and delivery.
- Support clinical research teams with professional leadership, coordination, and monitoring.
- Drive innovation by contributing to healthcare that is effective, efficient, and research-based.

Knowledge Requirements:
- An understanding of the importance of maintaining security and confidentiality of information.
- Clear oral and written communication.
- Ability to negotiate, persuade and influence.
- Specialist knowledge of the regulatory framework around research.
- Knowledge of study set up timelines.
- Contractual management.
- Finance & invoicing experience.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in clinical trial study set up.
- Knowledge and understanding of government study set up metrics.
- ICH-GCP training.
Experience:
- Well-developed IT skills including the use of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Experienced user of databases and reporting tools and ability to update skills as necessary.
- Accurate and attentive to detail.
- Motivated and willing to learn.
- Excellent numerical and written skills.
- Able to produce reports and graphs for internal and external audit purposes as required.
- Ability to seek out information when not readily available.
- Experience working in a research environment.
- Experience in training others.
