The ENT department sits under the Surgical Care group. The service provides elective and emergency services at Poole Hospital with outpatient activity across both Royal Bournemouth and Poole Hospitals. The ENT team consists of 7 consultant surgeons, 4 middle grades and 3 registrars and this new post would be an addition to the current team. The unit is a training unit attracting positive feedback from NTN registrars in the Wessex deanery as well as national and international fellows.
Main duties of the job:
- The successful candidate will become part of the middle grade on call with onsite junior doctor cover.
- They will form part of a collaborative team of surgeons who will offer support on both a clinical and pastoral basis.
- The post-holder will be responsible mainly for running outpatient clinics at Poole Hospital.
- Operating sessions, depending on ability, can be agreed with the Clinical Lead.
- Day to day running of the ward beds and providing guidance to the junior doctors in their duties as and when necessary is a requirement.
- The successful candidate may be required to work across sites now and in the future as part of reconfiguration of the trust sites.
We are seeking self-motivated enthusiastic individuals who can work well together with our current ENT surgeons and more generally allied surgical and medical colleagues to continue to move the department forward.

- Qualifications: MRCS
- Experience: Ability to take part in ENT general on-call rota; Theatre experience in routine ENT surgery.
