Detailed job description and main responsibilities:
As part of our ongoing Data Quality Initiative, this role plays a key part in supporting departments across the Trust in identifying and resolving data issues. You’ll work closely with operational teams, advising on best practice and using data validation tools to analyse and correct errors. You will support a wide range of Trust-wide activities, including:
- Running and interpreting scheduled reports to address data quality concerns
- Supporting the implementation and maintenance of the EPIC programme
- Investigating and resolving duplicated or confused patient records
- Liaising with colleagues across multiple sites to correct data anomalies
- Assisting in audits related to Inpatient, Outpatient, and Waiting List data
- Managing monthly data challenges and national data tracing processes
- Supporting specialist teams in Cancer and Acute Services with record resolution
- Maintaining accurate and well-structured spreadsheets
- Using Trust IT systems confidently and effectively
Person specification:
Qualifications:
- Health Record & Information Management (IHRIM) or equivalent knowledge and experience
- NVQ level 4 or equivalent knowledge and experience
- ECDL level or equivalent
- General good standard of education equivalent to 5 GCSEs including English & Maths
Experience:
- In-depth knowledge of Patient Administration Systems or equivalent
- Proven experience of NHS structure and interdependencies
- Mentoring and training of colleagues and staff
- Experience of following processes and checking validity of the process and resultant data items
- Proven knowledge of Information Governance Laws ie FOI, Data Protection Act etc.
- Knowledge of NHS PAS systems across a range of data sets
- Knowledge of CRS, NCRS and NHS Data dictionary
- Proven record working on data quality corrections
