We are looking for Healthcare Assistants to join our team on the Elective Surgery Hub at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital. You will work as part of a team delivering excellent patient care to patients undergoing a variety of surgical procedures.
Main duties of the job:
- To work as part of the ward/department team delivering excellent patient care.
- Monitoring patients and performing basic health checks.
- Serving meals and helping to feed patients.
- Provide support to patients to maintain their hygiene needs. This may include actions such as:
- Bathing/washing
- Care of mouth, hair, nails and eyes
- Encouraging continence
- Emptying urinary catheter bags
- Mobilising to toilet or use of commode or bedpan
- Maintaining hygiene needs after episodes of incontinence
