An exciting Band 6 opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated nurse to join the nursing team on Ward C3 and the Coronary Care Unit in UHW. C3 is a 10 bedded acute cardiology ward and the Coronary Care Unit is an 8 bedded, Level 2 area that provides enhanced care to complex Cardiology patients. You should have extensive experience in Cardiac nursing at Band 5 level or above, good communication and interpersonal skills along with an ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.

Main duties of the job include:

  • The ability to cope in an acute setting is highly desirable, although support will be given.
  • We are looking for a dynamic individual who provides strong clinical leadership and shares the vision of this service.

Qualifications required include:

  • Current NMC registration
  • Evidence of relevant CPD
  • Degree module
  • Teaching & assessing qualification

Experience required includes:

  • Extensive Cardiology experience as Band 5 or above
  • Lead a team, motivate staff
  • Ability to adapt to change within the working situation
  • Concerns management

Skills/knowledge required include:

  • Teaching experience, mentor staff
  • Clinical expert in relevant speciality
  • Experience with audit/risk assessment
