We are excited to offer this Assistant Psychologist post in the Northern Care Alliance, based at the Devonshire Neuro-Rehabilitation Centre, Stockport
This is a full-time post for 12 months
You will assist with assessments, formulations, and interventions for clients referred to the Devonshire Centre
You will also hold responsibilities for maintaining patient databases and assisting in audit and service evaluation.

Main duties of the job
the role involves working with patients with Acquired Brain Injury and Neurological events that impact on people’s mood, cognition, behaviour and can affect and impact upon a person’s work and social life, and support systems. The successful applicant will be working with patients with high distress, significant cognitive difficulties and people who are working to come to terms with and deal with very challenging life and health events.
The post holder will be guided and supported by a Consultant Psychologist and will have regular communication with them. There will be regular joint sessions and input with other members of the MDT (e.g. OT, Physio, and SLT). There are also opportunities for group work with patients and the role will likely include some family support work. Enthusiasm, reflective skills and great communication skills will be important in the role.
On completion we hope you will be in a strong position to apply for other Assistant Psychologist, or equivalent, posts to continue to develop knowledge and experience and that you will go on to make an application for clinical training.
