As a Healthcare Assistant you will be working with the Ward Team to deliver an individual plan of care to our patients. Previous Healthcare experience is not required, but experience and an understanding of caring for people with mental health, learning disability or autism is beneficial.
Main duties of the job:
- Develop therapeutic relationships with patients through engagement in meaningful activities.
- Assist with daily activities that support the physical and mental health of our patients.
- Observe and talk with patients, support structured days, serve meals, and engage in planned therapy or activities.
- Work in a highly demanding environment, encountering complex emotionally and physically challenging situations.
- Work 150 hours over a 4-week period, including long days (13-hour shifts), day or night shifts, and a share of weekends, nights, and bank holidays.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities:
- Provide and maintain a high standard of care, facilitating therapeutic/meaningful activities for patients on the ward.
- Escort patients on out of grounds visits.
- Liaise closely with other health and social care professionals as well as patients, relatives, and carers.
- Undertake, record, and report clinical observations as directed by registered staff.
- Act in a manner to promote and safeguard the interests and wellbeing of patients.
- Promote a responsible caring attitude at all times, treating all patients with dignity and respect.
