Job overview

We are currently seeking a friendly and reliable individual to join our retail team at the newly opened North View Hospital café. As a Catering Retail Assistant, you will provide excellent customer service to staff, patients, and visitors, while assisting in the preparation and serving of food and beverages. In return you be working with an experienced team working with fresh local ingredients and the best equipment. We pride ourselves on producing a high-quality food and drink service to all our customers.

Main duties of the job

· Food and beverage preparation

· Food and beverage service

· Cleaning of equipment, meal service equipment and catering areas as per cleaning schedules

· Serve food and beverages to customers.

· Operate without direct supervision

· Maintain a safe working environment for patients, staff, visitors and colleagues.

· Using POS till for cash and card transactions.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • Pay Enhancements – 30% additional for Evenings (8pm onwards) and Saturdays and 60% additional for Sundays and Bank holidays.
  • 27 days annual leave plus bank holidays rising to 29 after 5 years and 33 days after 10 years
  • Customer service experience in busy retail unit
  • Extensive catering experience

The Trust mandates all post holders who require a DBS for their role to subscribe to the DBS Update Service. You will be required to enrol for this service for a fee of £16 per year and maintain registration throughout your employment with GMMH.
