Job overview
We seek to appoint a Regional Lynch Syndrome Nursing Lead to support genomic testing pathways, liaising with primary and secondary care, and managing responsibilities within SMCFIC under supervision.
The role includes ensuring timely access to genetic testing, collaborating with genetics teams, and supporting education and awareness initiatives for Lynch syndrome.
Main duties of the job
- Assist with management of Lynch Syndrome patients
- Conduct genetic conversations in line with NICE and local guidelines
- Collaborate regionally and nationally to promote awareness and information sharing
- Support education programs for clinical staff and patients
- Provide leadership and management support within the team

Education/Qualifications
- Degree level education
- MSc or working towards it
- Postgraduate in genetic counselling, genomics, colorectal cancer, or GI nursing
- Advanced communication training
- Level 2 psychology qualification
- Teaching qualification
Knowledge and experience
- Post-qualification GI nursing and mainstreaming experience
- Experience with inherited disorders and education delivery
- Experience in presentations, people management, and project management
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work autonomously
