Job overview

We are eager to offer this new post to expand our innovative psychologically led Assessment and Therapy service workstream. This is a permanent full‑time vacancy open to qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP), and would encourage you to apply if you have experience working as a PWP. Post holders must hold relevant registration (i.e. BPS or BABCP) and qualification (PgCert in Low Intensity Psychological Interventions).

The West Yorkshire Staff Mental Health and Wellbeing Hub is committed to supporting the mental health and wellbeing of all health and social care professionals and volunteers. Working remotely your role as a PWP will be to provide evidence‑based low‑intensity interventions, supporting the triage, rapid and clinical risk assessment with clients, with opportunities to support in‑service development as well as working in an environment that fosters personal development.

Main duties of the job

As part of the West Yorkshire Staff Mental Health and Wellbeing Hub Therapy service you will support with the MDT triage of clients referring into the service, conduct initial client contact calls following triage to update clients and gather further information to support their assessment. This post is not within a NHS Talking Therapies service.

This is a hybrid role with most duties being carried out from home including virtual groups but with frequent travel across the West Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership footprint to attend engagement/promotional meetings as well as in‑person team meetings.

As a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner we would expect you to provide brief clinical risk and assessment, formulation and brief psychological interventions for people presenting with common mental health problems, including group and individual modalities.

Using a range of brief psychological interventions, wellbeing practitioner will empower clients to manage distress and crisis effectively.

Person specification

Qualifications

  • Qualification in Low Intensity CBT interventions, from an accredited course with the BPS.

Skills

  • Experience delivering psychological therapies to groups of patients.

Experience

  • Experience in relevant area of mental health practice.

Knowledge

  • Assessment, planning, formulation and evaluation of patient’s psychological difficulties.
