The predicted salary is between 24000 - 36000 £ per year.
Full and part-time hours available. The role involves transport of patients and staff, replenishment of medical consumables across the Trust (including community and rural departments), transfer of beds/mattresses, furniture and medical devices between areas, and delivery of equipment to patients’ homes. The successful applicant will also undertake related tasks as required by the Trust and will perform related administration tasks including filing, reception duties, use of Microsoft packages, and handling telephone enquiries.
Main duties / Responsibilities
- Assist with operational movement of staff and patients, management of stock (NHS Supply Chain), procurement services, and participate in delivering an efficient procurement service in line with the Trust Procurement Strategy and Trust Standing Financial Instructions (SFI’s).
- Perform administration tasks related to departmental needs (filing, reception duties, Microsoft packages, telephone enquiries).
- Distribute stock and non-stock goods and freight around the hospital using barrows or cages as required.
- Distribute equipment to designated areas throughout the hospital.
- Obtain signatures for delivered goods and return signed paperwork to the Medical Equipment store to comply with audit processes.
- Assist in delivering pharmacy products to wards or community departments.
- Keep the Medical Equipment stores area clean, tidy and in a fit state for staff to carry out duties.
- Pick up stock items from wards and deliver to other areas as required.
- Commit to weekend and night shift patterns as part of the role.
Qualifications
- Must hold or be able to obtain training for, or have the equivalent of non-patient transport support level 3 RQF.
- Attendance at novice and leadership improvement sessions within the first year of the role.
Experience
- Capable of lifting/moving heavy goods.
- Attention to detail to ensure correct goods are processed.
Knowledge
- Knowledge of hospital layout and logistics.
- Knowledge of Microsoft packages and administrative duties.
