Job overview
This post is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Pharmacy Technician to work as a member of the Virtual Frailty Ward Team within North Tees & Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust. The role will focus on promotion of safe, rational, effective, and economic use of medicines used in Virtual Ward patients. The role will include conducting medicine reconciliation for these patients, ensuring that safe and effective clinical interventions are made as appropriate. The post holder will provide pharmaceutical advice to members of the Virtual Ward Multi- disciplinary Team (MDT) with the support of the clinical pharmacist team. The post holder will be expected to be an active member of the virtual ward MDT, providing feedback to virtual ward rounds when required. There will be an expectation that the post holder will support in delivery of training to members of the virtual ward MDT on the safe use of medicines and medicines optimisation. Provide responses to queries from nurses and other healthcare professionals, referring any clinical issues to the Pharmacist.
This is a newly developed role & will enable the successful candidate to be instrumental in developing & improving a strongly patient-centred approach

- Pharmacy Technician Qualification (NVQ Level 3, BTEC or equivalent)
- Registered with the GPhC
- Successfully completed regional Checking Technician Course or equivalent
- Successfully completed or working towards a recognised medicines management qualification
- Acute hospital Experience

Disclosure and Barring Checks (DBS)
It is the policy of North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust, that all successful candidates who are new to the Trust who require DBS clearance for the post they have been offered, are required to pay the cost for their DBS certificate. New Starters – Probationary Period
For any new employees commencing employment with North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust, you will be subject to satisfactory completion of a 6 month probationary period. Please note that internal applications and individuals that are appointed to fixed term appointments of less than 6 months duration are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or a bank member of staff).

Working Hours
