We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and committed clinical pharmacist with well-developed interpersonal skills to join our innovative clinical pharmacy team and lead the infection management team at North West Anglia Foundation Trust. You will provide pharmaceutical expertise to the Trust Antimicrobial Stewardship Committee and be responsible for ensuring the infection management service provided by the pharmacy department complies with national requirements. This opportunity presents the successful candidates with a chance to develop and shape their team across the trust. Main duties of the job
- You will be a vital contributor at mid-management level for the pharmacy service in our busy Trust and a clinical lead pharmacist to the Clinical Business Unit (CBU) / Specialty area, working closely with other clinical lead pharmacists at both sites and the Principal Pharmacist Infection Management.
- Take professional responsibility for the management and delivery of comprehensive antimicrobial stewardship and infection prevention and control pharmacy services to the Trust.
- Manage the delivery of patient-focused, high quality and cost-effective clinical pharmacy services as the specialist clinical pharmacist for infection management, with specialist knowledge and skills.
- Contribute to the Trust wide antimicrobial education and training programmes for the multi-disciplinary team.
- Engage departmental and multi-disciplinary team colleagues in regular audit, reporting and review of antimicrobial prescribing and administration to support stewardship programmes and national ACS CQUIN requirements.
- Support the Deputy Chief Pharmacist to engage with the Divisional Directors, Consultants and Finance leads to oversee the managed introduction of new antimicrobials through an annual business planning process.
- Provide antimicrobial clinical and service information on complex issues to the Deputy Chief Pharmacist and senior pharmacy management team to support departmental operational service development.
Education and Qualification
- Educated to Degree (with significant practice experience) or Masters level in Pharmacy.
- Registered Pharmacist (GPhC).
- Specialist knowledge acquired through Postgraduate qualification relevant to hospital pharmacy practice.
- Leadership / Management qualification relevant to the NHS or equivalent management qualification or experience.
- Postgraduate qualification in Microbiology / Infection Management.
- Registered Pharmacy non-medical prescriber.
- Credentialed for RPS Core Advanced Pharmacist Curriculum.
Knowledge & Experience
- Advanced broad clinical pharmacy experience.
- Experience in planning, undertaking and reviewing audit systems, including implementation of subsequent changes.
- Computer literate – Microsoft Office and Clinical pharmacy applications.
- Up to date evidence of work towards the pillars and domains of HEE or RPS advanced practice.
- Experience in infection management.
- Recent experience of both operational and strategic planning.
