A part-time opportunity has arisen for an Ophthalmic Photographer to join the busy team within Ophthalmology, providing a comprehensive diagnostic ophthalmic photography service to patients served by the Trust.

Main duties of the job:

  • Undertake a wide range of duties with respect to ophthalmic photography for the ophthalmology department, in accordance with the needs of the Trust.
  • Deliver an efficient, professional, skilled and broad range of technical services for the ophthalmology department using a wide range of equipment.
  • Manage your own workload of patients and maintain associated records.
  • Mentor junior staff where required.
  • Attend additional training when required and maintain CPD.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 2 years clinical experience working within Medical Photography (including ophthalmic photography) – evidence required.
  • Recent NHS experience working in a relevant clinical field.
  • State registration – ACHS/OIA.
  • Photographic/media related qualification (BA Hons / HND) or relevant experience.
  • IMI membership.
  • Computer literacy including knowledge and experience using photo manipulation and graphics software e.g. Adobe Creative Cloud on PC and/or MAC.
  • Ability to use a range of ophthalmic imaging equipment.
  • Experience of research and audit.

Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs will be deducted from their salary over the first three months of employment. You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. A small annual fee of £16 per year applies.
