The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH) is a 1,200-bedded teaching hospital with state-of-the-art facilities for modern patient care. We carry out nearly one million outpatient appointments, day case procedures and inpatient admissions annually. Our staff of approximately 10,000 care for and support patients referred to us by around 100 local GP practices and from other acute hospitals.

At NNUH, it is our privilege to provide healthcare, and our vision is to ‘provide the best care for every patient’. Our values support our vision and guide the behaviour of everything we do:

  • People-focused: We look after the needs of our patients, carers and colleagues, to provide a safe and caring experience for all.
  • Respect: We act with care, compassion and kindness and value others’ diverse needs.
  • Integrity: We take an honest, open and ethical approach to everything we do.
  • Dedication: We work as one team and support each other to maintain the highest professional standards.

We want all our staff to achieve a balance between work and personal life and understand how important flexible working can be. We welcome applications on a full or part-time basis, various shift patterns and hybrid working, where roles allow.

Our Unplanned Healthcare Group is one of the largest at NNUH, comprising a wide variety of specialities. This is your chance to join our specialty area which we are currently recruiting into. Within each speciality is a team of professionals excited to welcome you to the team and support you into post as you find your way in your role!

Main duties of the job include:

  • Participating in a robust preceptorship programme supported by excellent, friendly and experienced Clinical Education teams.
  • Engaging in continuous professional development and training opportunities.
  • Becoming fully integrated into the team and continually developing your skills.

We are proud to offer and support all our Newly Qualified Nurses through a comprehensive Preceptorship scheme for a minimum of 12 months. When you start with us, you will be assigned an appropriately trained preceptor/mentor, who will support and work with you throughout your preceptorship.

Qualifications required include completion of Pre-Registration training to diploma or degree level and recent experience of nursing in an acute hospital environment. Good communication and inter-personal skills are essential.

For more information or to arrange a visit to the ward/department, please contact our Recruitment team.
