The salary scale above has been agreed as part of the NHS Agenda for Change pay award for 2025/2026 and will be implemented in August 2025 with arrears backdated to 1st April 2025 where applicable.

Job overview

These posts offer an opportunity to 2 individuals to work within an administrative environment within the Medical Records Department in the Royal Glamorgan Hospital and our Williamstown Hub.

The post will involve the retrieval of case notes from around the hospital. Sending case notes back to our off site storage unit and decanting cages of case notes when the deliveries arrive from the Hub. Duties will also include supporting the Medico-legal team with their requests, locating case notes for them and photocopying. The successful candidate will be liaising with staff from all parts of the Health Board and at all levels. On the job training will be undertaken and the successful candidate must be numerate and literate and able to work under pressure.The hours of the posts are as follows –

POST 1 = Monday – Friday – 08:30 – 16:30

POST 2 = Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday – 09:30 – 14:30

There will also be a requirement to work within the off site Hub in Williamstown, although your base will be RGH.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidates will be joining a well established team providing support within the Medical Records Department particularly to the Medico-legal section.

Retrieval of case notes from around the hospital.
Dealing with digitised records.
Requesting case notes from other hospital and the Hub.
The successful candidate must possess good communication and keyboard skills.
