This role is ideal for someone who is keen to develop their skills in management accounts and contribute to the effective running of our finance function.

Main duties of the job

The role will support the Assistant Business Accountant in the provision of financial information, analysis, and advice to budget holders.

You will support with the production of monthly financial management information, completing variance analysis and forecasting.

You will report to the Assistant Business Accountant and assist with the calculation of costings.

You will also assist in the budget setting process and reporting systems that enable an effective financial management service to Care Groups.

To support the Assistant Business Accountant in the provision of financial information, analysis and advice to budget holders in the most timely and effective manner. To assist in the budget setting process and reporting systems that enable an effective financial management service to a Care Group.

Person specification

Qualifications

  • NVQ level 3 in accountancy/finance (AAT Level 3 Diploma, BTEC Level 3 Diploma, Apprenticeship in Accounting or A-levels) or equivalent experience. ICDL or equivalent computer experience.
  • AAT qualified or equivalent experience.

Experience

  • Some finance experience
  • Some financial management or management accounts experience

Skills, knowledge and competencies

  • Good written and verbal communication skills and proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to organise own work load and to work with limited supervision.
  • Good analytical skills with knowledge of computerised ledger systems and coding structures.
  • Knowledge of financial management and budget setting.

  • Enthusiastic, determined, motivated, positive, open, honest and approachable.
  • Confident, hardworking, committed, reliable and able to work on your own or as part of a team.

Physical effort

  • Significant computer use, switch tasks at short notice and unpredictable workload.
