Clinical Lead in London

Newark and Sherwood Local Mental Health Team (LMHT) are looking to recruit a compassionate and highly skilled Clinical Lead to join the LMHT management team. Working in collaboration with the Team Leader and members of the wider LMHT workforce, the Clinical Lead will be responsible for leading, monitoring and evaluating the clinical practice of the team driving towards clinical excellence. The post holder will provide and oversee clinical supervision and support the multi-disciplinary team to ensure the delivery of high quality and safe patient centred care and provide senior clinical leadership within the service.

Main duties of the job:

• The post holder will exercise senior clinical expertise, levels of judgement, discretion and decision making in clinical care whilst working within the team.
• To participate in clinical leadership of the LMHT, working alongside the Team Leader and in coordinating the team in the delivery of high-quality multidisciplinary care.
• The post holder will ensure patients receive appropriate investigation, intervention and treatment with minimal avoidable delays, whilst improving the quality and experience of care.
• In collaboration with the team leader monitor and lead improvements to standards of care through supervision of practice, clinical audit, evidence based practice, teaching and supporting professional colleagues and the provision of skilled professional leadership.
• The post holder will hold qualification relevant to the LMHT Provision (Nursing/Social Work/OT/Therapist/Other), will use these skills in collaboration with others to lead clinically in support of the delivery of high quality services to patients and families open to the service.
• To be responsible for completing specialist mental health assessments and developing treatment plans as an autonomous practitioner and to monitor interventions, ensuring compliance in accordance with Trust policy.
• To maintain professional standards, ensuring adherence to all relevant policies and procedures to ensure the delivery of high-quality care.

Person specification:

• Professional Qualification (Mental Health) to degree level or equivalent.
• Maintains professional registration with appropriate professional body.
• Further specialist knowledge/post registration experience in specific service area or other formal training.
• Demonstrate continued professional development to maintain professional registration.
• Willingness to undertake new clinical practices, education and training that will enhance service delivery.
• Experience of delivery of training.
• Experience of management of change.
• Experience of development of training.
• Demonstrates satisfactory clinical expertise for the banding.
• Specialist and area specific experience.
• The ability to deal with and resolve conflict.

Knowledge:

• Knowledge and understanding of current legislation and understanding of clinical risk assessments.
• Awareness of national and local issues impacting community mental health care.
• Knowledge of management theories.

Skills:

• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to be flexible and handle conflict issues.
• Good skills in assessment intervention and evaluation of patients nursing care.
• Clinical supervision skills.
