Join the Gastroenterology team at Mid and South Essex NHS Trust. This role is based at Southend Hospital, with opportunities to work cross-site at Orsett or a new CDC in Basildon. You will help provide inpatient care for Gastroenterology patients on a 1:5 Gastroenterologist of the Week model.

Main duties of the job:

  • Support inpatient & outpatient gastroenterology services alongside established consultants
  • Undertake teaching for undergraduate and postgraduate medical staff, nursing, and pharmacy professionals

Detailed job description and main responsibilities:

  • Providing clinical care for gastroenterology patients
  • Contributing to Trust policies and priorities
  • Supervising and training multidisciplinary team members in the Gastroenterology and Endoscopy Department

Person specification:

  • Gastroenterology consultant with over 2 years of experience
  • Experience with Endoscopy performance and training
  • ERCP experience and signed off

Qualifications:

  • MBBS or equivalent & GMC registration
  • Entry on GMC Specialist Register or eligible within six months of CCT
